Freight transport in Argentina currently faces one of the most challenging tax schemes in the region, which directly affects the competitiveness of our companies. In this technical report, we carry out an exhaustive breakdown of the tax burden, analysing the weight of national taxes, the administrative complexity of the Gross Income tax and the dispersion of municipal rates that affect daily logistics operations. By contrasting our situation with the models of Brazil and Mexico, this study not only exposes the efficiency gaps, but also proposes concrete lines of work for advancing towards genuine tax simplification. It is essential reading for executives and decision-makers seeking to understand the structural factors that currently limit the sector's economic sustainability, and how other countries in the region have managed to optimise their fiscal schemes in order to encourage the growth of transport. We invite you to download the full report to access the comparative data and the reform proposals designed for the sector.
